Photo Album Book passing
is composed of five chapters, each consisting of “Zanketsu”(Remnant): photographing parts of a dismantled Buddha statue; “Waterfall”: focusing on the appearance of falling water; “White Buddha”: photographing only the face of a weathered stone Buddha by the roadside; “Sanctuary”: showing compassion for a withering flower; and “Road” with no end in sight.
I have been photographing “Road” and “Waterfall” for 20 years, and “Zanketsu”, “Sanctuary”, and “White Buddha” which I have been working on for about four years, are still being photographed today.
I believe that the common theme is the focus on “time” which gradually changes everything that exists.
